Ganz Mavag operates two advanced production facilities in Hungary, strategically located to serve the global rail market. Each facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly skilled professionals, ensuring that every rail vehicle and component we produce meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
1. Magyar Vagon Dunakeszi
The Dunakeszi facility is the largest coach manufacturing plant in Hungary, with a production area covering 580,000 sqm. Established in 1926, it has a rich history of producing high-quality passenger coaches for both domestic and international markets.
Capabilities:
New Coach Production
This site has produced over 2,800 new coaches since 1950, including high-speed and multipurpose coaches for operators in Greece, Austria, Hungary and Egypt.
Assembly & Design
Testing Facilities
Includes pneumatic and electrical diagnostic systems, surface protection technologies, and bogie testing systems.
2. Magyar Vagon Szolnok
Founded in 1856, the Szolnok facility is one of Hungary’s oldest rail production sites, covering 300,000 sqm with a production area of 62,000 sqm. This site focuses on both new coach manufacturing and the refurbishment of existing fleets.
Capabilities:
New Coach Production
The Szolnok facility specializes in producing coaches with speeds of up to 200 km/h, including premium first-class and second-class vehicles with amenities such as buffet corners, ergonomic seating, and Wi-Fi.
Refurbishment & Modernization
Bogie & Wheel-Set Production
This site also handles the fabrication and overhaul of bogies and wheel-sets, ensuring seamless operations for our clients.
