The Szolnok Factory founded in 1856 and the Dunakeszi Main Workshop founded in 1926; both have played a pivotal role in the development of the european railway industry. Over the decades, the plants manufactured thousands of passenger coaches and pioneered advancements in rail technology. Our history includes significant milestones such as the development of the Eurofima Intercity carriage, the largest rail project in Egypt, and other successful collaborations.

Magyar Vagon Dunakeszi

Production at the Dunakeszi Main Workshop began on 23 May 1926. Despite the depression, the plant received prestigious orders in the late 1930s, including the Golden Train. During WWII, production shifted to war efforts, with carriage repair becoming secondary. After the war, production resumed, and by the 1950s, new carriages were regularly manufactured. In the 1960s-70s, the factory produced one carriage per day, employing over 3,000 workers. In 1994, the Eurofima Intercity carriage, developed in-house, won the grand prix at the 1995 Industria trade fair.
